U.S. Information Science Expert Addresses Minsk Conference
On October 5, U.S. speaker and library specialist Blanche Woolls delivered a keynote address on "Libraries and Museums: Sharing Services for the Future" at an international conference hosted by the Belarusian Library Association and Belarusian State University of Culture in Minsk. During her six-day program, Woolls, Director of the Schools of Library and Information Science and Professor at San Jose State University in California, gave a series of guest lectures on current developments in library education, continuing and distance education for library professionals, and children's and school libraries. She met with information science specialists and students at Belarus' leading library schools, high schools and libraries. Her meetings included discussions with the staff members of various institutions including the National Library of Belarus and the Minsk City Children's Library.
