American Photographer Debuts Exhibition in Minsk
Diana Walker, contract photojournalist for Time Magazine and twenty-year veteran of covering the White House, attended an exhibition of her candid photographs of American presidents in Minsk, Belarus. The exhibition was officially opened at a reception on March 2 by Deputy Chief of Mission Constance Phlipot, along with the Director of the Pushkin Library in Minsk where the exhibition was on view through March 11. Members of the Minsk diplomatic and artistic community attended the event, which was covered by print, radio and television media.
During her visit to Minsk, Ms. Walker delivered several lectures on her work as a photojournalist in the United States, presenting slideshows of her photographs. She spoke to journalists, photographers, students and alumni of American government exchange programs. She developed ties with the Belarusian photography community, visiting the studios of several local photographers and exchanging prints with them.
