U.S. Embassy Donates Books to Economics University

Deputy Chief of Mission Karen Stewart recently donated a book collection valued at $437 to the Belarusian State Economics University (BSEU), following up on a $1,340 U.S. donation earlier this year to the university. The two collections included books in English about trade and the U.S. economy and also books by American economists, translated into Russian, on the topics of business, economics, and entrepreneurship.

Ms. Stewart announced the second donation April 14 in remarks to BSEU's annual conference for students majoring in international business. The books were to be awarded to the best student presenters at the conference. Ms. Stewart lauded the achievements of the students for their ability to make their business presentations in English. She also emphasized the importance of English in advancing international business communication.
