Ambassador Krol Addresses "Earth Day" Reception in Minsk
Ambassador George Krol on April 22 addressed an "Earth Day" reception for Belarusian academicians, writers, scientists, eco-tourism specialists and other individuals whose professional or private sector activities are linked to ecological and environmental issues.
In his remarks, Ambassador Krol noted that the commemoration of Earth Day in the United States affirms that environmental awareness is part of the nation's consciousness. "This is an area where Americans and Belarusians share many common goals," he said, calling for "increased ways to work together to preserve the precious gifts of nature."
The guests received a series of publications and documents related to U.S. policy and activities in the area of environmental protection and also toured the Information Resource Center at the Public Affairs Section.
